Rooster dcor has been around for a long time and it seems each generation keeps it alive. Those that grew up in a country setting and those that grew up wishing they were in the country both seem to include at least one rooster in their country home dcor. There is nothing like the holidays to add roosters to your dcor theme or just change their presentation for the different seasons.
For fall, you can add some fall leaves around your roosters that bring out the oranges and gold tones. Maybe you have a small rooster you could sit among the fall harvest spilling out of a cornucopia.
Don't forget the holidays. Easter is a perfect holiday to add some additional dcor to your roosters. Fill a rooster basket with colorful Easter eggs. You can use the plastic kind, wooden eggs, or blow out your own eggs. This would be a great project to complete with the children. Remember, including your children in the decorating process, not only gives you some quality time with them, but also helps them learn some valuable lessons.
If you have a plate display area, display rooster plates with different colors for different times of year. You can always display Christmas bird plates during the holidays then replace them with your rooster plates. This brings a fresh view of the plates for the start of a new year. Who knows, it may give you an idea for an entirely new room arrangement.
Want to add a friendly rooster welcome at your front door. Wreaths are a great way to keep up with the different seasons and holidays. You can purchase wreaths already made, such as an all egg wreath for the Easter season. Making wreaths can be time consuming but very rewarding. Short on time but want to use a rooster at Christmas. Buy a pre-decorated Christmas wreath then add a rooster. This will catch the eye of those visitors who checks out every piece of your dcor. Why not take an opportunity to impress them without them knowing how easy it was to do.
The 4 th of July would be a fun holiday to add a rooster into a wreath. Stick a small flag under its wing and if you can find one, a top hat on its head. All of these wreaths can be as simple or ornate as you want to make them. Just remember to keep them balanced and pleasing to the eye.
